These garments are a form of passive support that can be used by everyone all the time, they are not a medical treatment.

How FIR Technology Works

FIR garments are made using fabrics that contain ceramic nano -particles, these are woven into the fabric. These ceramic nano-particles naturally absorb the thermal energy your body emits and reflect it back as a deep penetrating FIR energy. This stimulates local blood circulation. At a cellular level this boosts natural processes, such as;

  • Improved oxygen delivery to the muscles and tissues.
  • Improved dissipation of metabolic waste products.
  • Enhanced muscle recovery of micro damage sustained during use.
  • Decreased cellular inflammation
  • Alleviated chronic pain and joint stiffness.

This interaction between the body and the garment acts as a loop; the fabric helps recycle the energy you are emitting that would otherwise be wasted into the surroundings. This energy is returned in a wavelength that is usable by your body to enhance your natural biological processes. The specific range of wavelengths emitted by the ceramic nano-particles is very important. The ceramic materials selected emit within a particular band of wavelengths that are readily absorbed by your cells, due to their high (60-70%) water content. This creates a resonance effect that causes vibrational movement at a molecular level, which generates heat deep within the tissue itself. This heating effect stimulates the processes listed above by encouraging the vasodilation of the surrounding tissues and structures.

There are also numerous benefits to wearing FIR garments post exercise, during the recovery phase. The enhanced local circulation helps restore normal blood flow and dissipate metabolic waste such as lactic acid, which can otherwise lead to soreness in muscles post exercise. This means that the use of FIR garments during recovery from exercise is reported to lead to decreased feelings of muscle soreness and tension.

The influence on local blood flow can also support those with poor circulation. The increased blood flow helps to maintain warmer extremities and decreases numbness. When coupled with compression this effect is enhanced.

Andina’s FIR fabric is made using yarn containing the ceramic nano-particles woven directly into the fabric, as opposed to a coating applied to the fabric, this means that the benefits are much longer lasting and should not be affected by washing or use.

Compression garments are a safe, long-term, non-analgesic option that can support athletes during exercise and recovery.

Athletic compression typically uses 18–20 mmHg of compression. The garment fit, pressure distribution, fabric stretch and construction all influence comfort, support, and effectiveness.
